Cloud Computing
Digital HIE INC is an early adopter and proponent of cloud platforms. Our highly skilled professionals assist clients in selecting the best cloud computing model (public, private, or hybrid) and platform type (Azure and Amazon). We develop new cloud apps, customize or migrate existing applications, and provide a post-implementation model that offers a roadmap for managing applications and infrastructure.
- Cloud services are often categorized into three types: IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, though these are not finite categories.
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
IaaS provides users with virtual infrastructure, such as platform virtualization environments and ancillary storage and networking functions. These services can be paid for on an “as used” basis, similar to utilities like water or electricity.
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
PaaS sits between IaaS and SaaS, offering not only virtual infrastructure but also cloud application environments and applications. Users can leverage PaaS to create and operate bespoke applications.
Software as a Service (SaaS)
SaaS offers users access to software programs without the need for local installation and operation. This reduces the need for high-level computing capabilities for each user and often lowers maintenance costs.
Cloud services are generally divided into public and private clouds. Public clouds are open to all, while private clouds are managed by or specifically for the organizations they serve.
